Ansof Towers

Architectural Design:
Boran Ekinci Architects
Building Type: Commercial
GIA: 120.000 m²
Location: Tripoli, Libya
Design Date: 2010
Status: Under Construction (correctly on hold due to Libyan conflict )

This building is designed with two parts, the low-rise and the high-rise. The low-rise consists of a conference centre, entertainment area, meeting spaces and car park functions.
Simple planning is an advantage with the low-rise, with which some atrium and bridges create rich spaces. The other part is the high-rise.
It consists of two towers functioning as office spaces.
The most important design criterion in this project is the facade system. Because the area is hot, dry and known for its sandstorms; we designed a second facade to control sunshine via extruding aluminium panel structures.
These panels form modular combinations in horizontal and vertical position. In addition, the mathematical combination creates a reasonable construction and emphasizes the aesthetic value.
