The concept of a university is an environment where knowledge is gained, information is exchanged, new networks and communities are formed. The idea of a university is a social togetherness and should be classless.
The port town of Newhaven is formed of an industrial area located in the middle of the two residential areas. The town is divided by the very existence of this industrial zone, however, there is a potential and a need to bring together the separated residential areas, to create a sense of community and unity.
A high street is an urban element that brings a dynamism and energy to the heart of a town or city and provides a connection between locations. It is lively, it is the place where people live outside of their homes, daily exchanges are made, people are brought together, and cultural activities take place. There are
no divides in social groups on the high street, everyone can be there. It can even be said that the high street is the university and holds the basis for the university idea
