Sisli City Hall

Architectural Design:
Boran Ekinci Architects
Building Type: Office
GIA: 26,300 m²
Location: Istanbul, Turkey
Design Date: 2011
Status: Completed 2013

The building is composed of a linear main structure and a green envelope system. The shell over the low rise is triangulated and provides access between levels being a circulating system and adding to the aesthetic value.
The entrance of the linear main building and the public relations department are buried under this shell. Hence, we hid 12 m of the whole building under this shell and by doing so we hid the height.
The wooden sunlight control elements cover the main structure; therefore, the elements create controlled light and a cosy facade.
Simple planning is an advantage with which some atrium and bridges create rich spaces.
